Appeals court says Biden admin likely violated First Amendment

A federal appeals court ruled on Friday that the Biden administration likely violated the First Amendment rights of former Trump officials by instructing social media platforms to remove or flag their posts as misinformation.

However, the court also narrowed the scope of a previous order that blocked the administration from communicating with social media companies at all, saying that it was too broad and interfered with legitimate government functions.

The case was brought by former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, among others.

They claimed that the administration was censoring their speech on topics such as Covid-19 and election fraud
