According to a new CNN poll, former President Donald Trump is the clear frontrunner in the race for the Republicans’ presidential nomination, leading the field with 59% support among likely GOP primary voters in New Hampshire.
The poll also shows a tight contest for second place, with entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at 16%, former Ambassador Nikki Haley at 15%, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie at 14%, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 13%.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
The poll suggests that Trump has maintained his loyal base of supporters despite his defeat in the 2020 election and his role in inciting the January 6 Capitol riot.
It also indicates that Ramaswamy, a political newcomer who launched his campaign in July, has gained momentum with his anti-woke message and his appeal to minority voters.
Haley, Christie, and DeSantis, meanwhile, are competing for the moderate and establishment wing of the party, as well as the voters who are looking for an alternative to Trump.
