Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who was one of Trump’s most loyal allies and lawyers, faces a new legal challenge in Georgia over his false claims of election fraud.
The state’s attorney general filed a motion on Friday to intervene in a lawsuit brought by a nonprofit group against Giuliani and other pro-Trump figures for violating Georgia’s racketeering law.
The motion argues that Giuliani and his co-defendants engaged in a “pattern of unlawful conduct” that harmed Georgia’s citizens and institutions.
Giuliani has denied any wrongdoing and said he was exercising his First Amendment rights.
